Tatung environmental policy
Introduction:
With technology advancing at an ever-increasing rate, propelling
the world into a new era of industrialization, environmental
protection has quickly become a key issue in today's society.
Countries, companies, and individuals now realize that the
earth's resources have limitations, and the human race has
begun to act in order to avoid the massive ecological problems
that could lie ahead - global warming, pollution, irreversible
damage to Earth's ecosystems. To move forward, we must pair
technological and industrial development with strictly enforced
environmental protection measures. The European Union has
been especially proactive in the movement, implementing the
WEEE and the RoHS in 2003 in order to regulate the manufacture
and recycling of electronics put on the EU market. More recently,
the Kyoto Protocol went into effect in an effort to reduce
the greenhouse gas emissions of countries across the globe.
Major problems remain, but the world has begun to act.
Tatung Technologies Inc. is committed to environmental protection
and has been for years, beginning environmental awareness
efforts in the 1980s under Tatung Co. through the establishment
of the Pollution Protection Education Center. Since then we've
implemented a number of policies designed to raise environmental
awareness, promote conservation and recycling, and minimize
or eliminate the effects of our own products on the natural
world. Green practices should and will drive tomorrow's industries
- and at TTI, we've dedicated ourselves to finding solutions. |
